What is a Portrait Party?
Portrait Parties are an exciting opportunity for you and your friends to have professional portraits made in a fun and affordable way. With no sitting fee, Portrait Parties are completely risk-free. Portrait Parties take place in your home (if you are the host) or any other suitable location (outdoors included), in which a fully flash-lit portrait studio will be created. As the host, your job is to arrange the party, invite your guests and keep them entertained, just like a regular party. For your hard work, you will enjoy credits toward portraits for hosting. Portrait Party sessions can even be incorporated as a unique feature into a 'regular' party at no additional cost to yourself! It is a low-stress and fun opportunity to have beautiful portraits made of yourself, your children, friends and family in a low-pressure, relaxed atmosphere.
How do Portrait Parties work?
The Portrait Party is organized by the party host. Hosts provide the location, coordinate the drinks, hors‘doeuvres, activities, the guest list and the scheduling of the 15 minute session times. Guests enjoy a good time and a free portrait session. After the party, the guests will be able to view and order their portraits via a secure online gallery. After all guests have ordered, the host will then be able to place an order based on credits from their guests purchases. Hosts also receive credits for each party attendee that subsequently hosts their own party.
If I host a Portrait Party what are my responsibilities?
The Portrait Party is organized by the party host. The party host is the key ingredient to a successful party. Hosts invite guests, coordinate scheduling of sessions and any other party-host related duties. Successful hosts follow up invites to their guests with reminders and to ensure that every session block is filled to get the most portrait credits possible. After the party, the guests will be able to view and order their portraits via a secure online gallery for 2 weeks. After all guests have ordered, the host will then be able to place an order based on credits from their guests’ purchases.
Do I receive free portraits if I host a Portrait Party?
Absolutely. The primary benefit of hosting a party - aside from having a lot of fun - is to build enough portrait credits to pay for your own portraits.
I'm attending my first Portrait Party, what should I do?
As a guest at a Portrait Party you get to have the most fun! Your host may ask you to bring a snack or beverage to share and will let you know what colour backdrop will be used (if applicable) so you can dress appropriately. Approximately 3 days after the party (usually the following day) your photos will be available to view and purchase via a secure online gallery. This gallery will be online for 2 weeks during which orders for prints can be placed. Please thank your host by placing your order within this time as that is how they are reimbursed for hosting the party.
